REFORM OF THE TWO ELECTRIC FURNACE OF ANGLO AMERICAN

Reframax has worked in the Remodeling Project of the two Electric Furnace of Anglo American in Barro Alto, Brazilian State of Goiás, one of the most important works of the company in Brazil. Electric Furnace I and II, which are considered the heart of the plant and are eight meters high, 13 meters large and 36 meters long each, were rebuilt with technology from the Canadian company Hatch.

It took us eleven months to accomplish such a high complex project, with 6,600 tons of refractory applied, which required 570 employees in its two parts. Reframax concluded the refractory coating of Furnace II and I with 10 and 15 days in advance, respectively, without any accident or leave, significantly contributing to the success of the project. It is worth noting that Reframax’s know-how (the only company in Brazil which counts on experienced professionals in repairing, remodeling and building Electric Furnace with 6 electrodes in line) and team commitment were fundamental to the reduction of the project term, maintaining a high quality level.

Parallel to the remodeling of the Electric Furnace, Reframax also took part in the partial remodeling of Rotary Furnace I and II, with 6-meter diameter and 185-meter long, respectively.
